Pay

When is pay day?
You will be paid on a monthly basis for each calendar month. Pay day is the last Friday of each month.

When is commission paid?
Commission is paid on a monthly basis along with your basic salary. Full details of our Commission Scheme can be found here

Will I receive an annual bonus?
If you are part of our corporate team you may be entitled to an annual discretionary bonus in December payroll.

Where can I find my payslips?
To access your payslip, please login to your personal Able account at https://gs1.ableinternetpayroll.com/able/signin/SignIn.do . Step by step instructions can be found [here].

Holidays

How do I book holidays?
Complete the ‘Holiday Request Form’ found in your Zimbra text parts and send the completed form in an email to your line manager for approval.

Where can I view the holidays I've booked in the current holiday year?
You can view the dates of annual leave days booked via Zimbra> Employee Portal> Absences and also in Zimbra>Employee Portal>My Holidays by hovering over the '?' beside 'Holidays Booked'.

How do I know how many days of annual leave I have remaining?
You can view how many days of annual leave you have booked and how many days you have remaining via Zimbra>Employee Portal>My Holidays

Normal Hours of Work, Lunch and Breaks

Please note the below information regarding breaks, lunch and working hours apply equally to employees working from the office or remotely.

How does the flexible start time work?
We operate a flexible start time whereby you are permitted to commence work at any time within a 30 minute window that runs from 15 minutes before your standard start time to 15 minutes after your standard start time. For example, if your standard start time is 08:00 you may commence work at any time between 07:45 and 08:15.

The end of your day will be determined by the time you commenced work + 9 hours. For example, if you commenced work at 8:10am then your day would end at 17:10. If you commenced work at 8:45 then your day would end at 17:45

Do I have to inform someone if I am going to be late?
Yes. We value timely arrival however understand that sometimes things happen and you might be late. If you are going to be late then please email people@flashbay.com and cc your line manager indicating the reason you are late and when you expect to arrive.

How long is my lunch break?
45 minutes.

Do I have any other breaks?
Yes, all employees have 2 additional 10-minute breaks per day. The first of these breaks should not be taken prior to 10.30am.

Where can I go on my break or lunch break?
If you’d like to stay indoors then you can use the break out area in Suite 2 or the benching in the Suite 1 Coffee Room however we encourage employees to get fresh air during their break times and the Imperial Park is a 2minute walk from the office and a lovely spot for lunch or break time.

Your colleagues will be happy to share with you some local lunch spots and there is also information on the noticeboard in Suite 1 where you can find details of local cafes and shops.

Sickness and Medical Appointments

Please note the below information regarding sick leave and appointments applies equally to employees working from the office or remotely.

What do I do if I cannot work?
If you cannot work then you must email people@flashbay.com and copy in your line manager before your normal start time. The email should state the reason you are unable to work. You must do this for each day you are absent.

Will I be paid if I am off sick?
Employees have 5 days of company sick pay (CSP) in each 12 month rolling period. More details can be found in the Absence & Return to Work Policy

How do I know how many sick days I've had?
You can view the number of sick days you've taken via Zimbra> Employee Portal> Absences

Can I go to a doctor's or dentist appointment during working hours? Medical and dental appointments should be made outside of your normal working hours whenever possible. However if this is not possible, medical leave can be granted for up to 2 hours during the first or last 2 hours of your working day - employees should make every effort to minimise disruption to their work.

How do I sign up for Perkbox?
You will receive an email to your Flashbay email address on your first day. Simply the follow the instructions to complete your registrations and then download the app on your phone or visit their website to start saving!

How do I enrol in the pension scheme?
You will automatically be enrolled in the pension scheme after 3 months of employment. Our pension provider are The People’s Pension and they will send an information pack to your home address once you have been enrolled.

Do I have to enrol in the pension scheme?
Yes. Legally we must enrol all employees into the pension scheme however employees can opt out of the pension scheme. If you opt out at any time during your first month in the scheme then you will be refunded your contributions however if you opt out after this you will not be refunded.

How do I opt out of the pension scheme?
You can either call our opt-out service on 0300 330 1280; or you can opt out online (you won’t need to set up your Online Account to do this). You’ll need to have:
• your customer number (you can find this on your joining letter or email)
• your date of birth
• your National Insurance number

Other

What do I do if I've lost my Key Fob for the main office door?
You must contact the Office Coordinator to confirm you've lost your key fob. The Office Coordinator will issue you with a new one at a cost of £20 which will be deducted from your next salary payment.

Where can I smoke?
Please smoke outside and away from the entrance to the Flashbay office. Please dispose of cigarette ends in the bins provided.

Is parking available?
Flashbay own 8 parking spaces in the Imperial Wharf underground car park. The cost of each space is £50 per month. If you are interested in renting a space please email people@flashbay.com.
