Pay
When is my first pay day?
If your first day is on 26th – 10th of the month your first pay will be on the 15th of the month. If you join on the 11th-25th of the month your first pay will be on the 30th of the month.
When is pay day?
Pay day is 15th & 30th of each month.
Vacation
How do I book Vacation?

When can I book Vacation?
On your first day HR will ask you to submit the dates of any pre-booked holidays you have. Following that employees will then be able to submit holiday requests after 90 days of employment.
How do I know how many vacation days I have?
Your vacation is accrued between January 1st – December 31st.
During your first year of employment you will have a pro-rata vacation allowance – determined using this formula (# of weeks worked X 1.54 = Total vacation hours).
HR will send you an email on your first day confirming how many vacation days you have for the first year. Additionally, your current vacation hours can be found on your pay stub.
How do I know how many days holiday I have booked in the current holiday year?
You can view the annual leave booked via Zimbra> Employee Portal> Absences
Sick
How many sick days do I have?
Immediately upon hire you are given 5 sick days, equivalent to 40 hours.
Thereafter, employees balance will be reset to five days or 40 hours on January 1st each year.
Who do I contact if I am not well?
Send an email to hr.us@flashbay.com when feasible advising you will be out for the day.
If you become sick during the day, you must inform hr.us@flashbay.com before you leave the facility.
Lunch and Breaks
How long is my lunchbreak?
1 hour, unpaid.
Do I have any other breaks?
Yes, all employees have 2 additional 10-minute breaks per day. Your first break should be taken halfway through start & lunch time & your second break should be taken halfway through lunch & end of day.
Here is an example
Start at 8am
First Break taken between 11am – 11:10am
Lunch is at 1pm – 2pm
Second Break taken between 3:30pm – 3:40pm
Leave at 5pm
Where can I go on my break or lunchbreak?
If you’d like to stay indoors you can enjoy your lunch in the admin room. However, we encourage employees to get fresh air during their break times. There are a few great picnic tables around the property where you can enjoy your lunch.
Your colleagues will be happy to share with you some local restaurants.
Benefits
When do Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits Start?
On your first day, you will be provided enrolment documents. You can choose to opt in or out of these benefits. If you have chosen to opt in and enrol, benefits begin after you completed 60 days.
Example
Your start date was the January 21st
60-day completion = March 21st
Benefits begin = April 1st
Please note that benefits always begin on the 1st of the upcoming month.
