What is Vitality Health Insurance?

Vitality is a private health insurance provider. Health insurance gives you access to private healthcare in the UK and helps cover the cost. This can range from private GP appointments to cancer treatment.

Health insurance is also called medical insurance, private medical insurance, or private health insurance. They're all the same thing.

How much does it cost?

Flashbay will cover the cost of your health insurance premium and employees will pay the associated tax. The table below provides a guide on what you can expect to pay per annum. These values are indicative only and vary by actual age and number of people who sign up for the plan. e.g. the cost will be lower for a 31 year old than for a 35 year old.

How do I opt in?

Send an email to people@flashbay.com confirming you’d like to opt into Vitality Health Insurance.

Employees can opt in once they have successfully completed their probation period. Enrolment takes place on a monthly basis. If you email to opt in prior to the 15th of the month your cover will begin on the 1st of the following month e.g. if you email on September 7th, your cover will start on October 1st. If you email to opt in after the 15th of the month your cover will begin the following month e.g. if you email on September 16th, your cover will start on November 1st.

How do I opt out?

Send an email to people@flashbay.com confirming you’d like to opt out of Vitality Health Insurance.

If you email to opt out prior to the 15th of the month your cover will end on the last day of the same month e.g. if you email on September 7th, your cover will end on September 30th. If you email to opt out after the 15th of the month your cover will end on the last day of the following month e.g. if you email on September 16th, your cover will end on October 31st.

What happens if I leave Flashbay?

Your private health insurance, and cover for a partner and/or dependents will automatically end on your contract end date.

Can I add family or friends to my Vitality health insurance?

It is possible to add a partner and/or child/children. Vitality does not allow you to add a parent, grandparent or any other relative and does not allow you to add friends.

The health insurance premium for a partner and/or child/children would automatically be deducted from your net pay on a monthly basis. If you would like to receive a quote to add someone to your Vitality health insurance please email people@flashbay.com.

What happens when I sign up?

You will receive an email from info@vitality.co.uk with your Vitality Membership details including your Membership number, plan number and cover start date.


What do I do once my Vitality Cover starts?

1. Register for your Member Zone account at https://members.vitality.co.uk/account/member-registration
2. Complete your online Health Review in the Member Zone to calculate your Vitality age, earn your first points and unlock your benefits: https://members.vitality.co.uk/healthy-living
3. Download the Vitality Member App to your device (e.g. phone, apple watch, activity tracker)

5. Begin earning Vitality points and star claiming your rewards!


Vitality Points, Status and Rewards

When you do healthy things, Vitality gives you points which count towards your Vitality status and earn rewards.

The more Vitality points you earn in a plan year, the higher your Vitality status will be. Everyone starts at Bronze status with an excess of £250 and then by earning points you’ll progress to Silver, Gold and finally Platinum status. As you progress to each status the excess amount you pay, if you make a claim, will reduce. The higher your Vitality status, the bigger the discounts and rewards you will receive.

You can view the points you’ve earned in the Vitality Member Zone or Member App.

How do I earn Vitality points?

There are different ways to earn Vitality points such as the items below:

- Tracking your daily steps via your linked activity tracker
- Completing a workout and tracking it via your linked activity tracker
- Completing a Vitality Healthcheck - book a Vitality Health Check: https://members.vitality.co.uk/partners-and-rewards/Vitality-Healthcheck
- Attending a WW Wellness Workshop
- Working out at selected Virgin Active or Nuffield Gym
- Visit a dentist for a regular check up and submit your evidence: https://members.vitality.co.uk/my-points/confirm-an-activity

Vitality Weekly Rewards

You can view weekly rewards within the ‘Rewards’ tab in the Vitality App.

Earn 12 activity points in 1 week and you will receive both of the rewards below:
1. Café Nero Drink and 25% off food
2. X1 movie rental with Rakuten TV

Before using them for the first time you will need to download the Café Nero and Rakuten TV apps, set up accounts and link them to your Vitality app. Then every Thursday, provided you’ve earned 12 activity points, you will receive vouchers for the above in the app.


Monthly Rewards

You can view monthly rewards within the ‘Rewards’ tab in the Vitality App.

Earn 48 points across the month and you will receive a code for a cinema ticket at Vue or Odeon. Once you’ve earned 48points you’ll receive your code which is valid until the end of the following month e.g. if you earn 48 points by February 16th, your code can be used between February 16th and March 31st.

Vitality Reward Partners

There are a range of Vitality Reward partners, some are available as soon as you register your account e.g. 12 month Headspace subscription and other are activated when you earn a certain number of points e.g. Amazon Prime membership.
